This horrifying footage shows the moment a large insect was pulled out of a man's inner ear with a pair of tweezers.

The bug, which appears to be some kind of grasshopper, is still alive after it was tugged out.

How the insect came to be inside the man's ear in the first place is unclear.

But there is little doubt that both parties are relieved their ordeals are over.

The video comes after skin-crawling footage emerged showing insects living in a person's eyelashes.

In the giant close up a bug can clearly be seen feeding off the skin of its unsuspecting victim.

The YouTube video then goes on to show what appear to be a number of other nits infested in the lashes and eggs ready to hatch.
